My writing has appeared in the TLS, the Literary Review, the Guardian, the London Magazine, Guernica and the Spectator.

My book A Song Against Dying will be published by Bloomsbury in 2027. I am also the author of a biography of the German explorer Alexander von Humboldt, the co-editor of a guide to German fiction, and have contributed to 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die.
